The Norwegian Training Center’s (NTC) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) branch, led by Managing Director Captain Jo Even Tomren, took immediate action to reach out to families severely affected by Typhoon Odette in Cebu. The aid was expanded with the distribution of various supplies such as boxes of bottled water, ready meals, blankets and mosquito nets on December 21, 2021.

In addition, the Norwegian Shipowners’ Association (NSA) is providing financial support through a partnership with the Philippine Red Cross, which is helping to provide assistance to those affected by the typhoon.

NTC was established by the NSA in 1990 because the operators duly recognize the ability of Filipino seafarers to be trained and recognized as world-class and globally competitive in the shipping industry.

With that real boost, NTC is one of the world’s leading simulator training and competency assessment centers for seafarers from around the world.
