Soha Ali Khan remembers the occasions when there was no electrical energy within the Pataudi Palace: “We slept outdoors” | Bollywood
The actress Soha Ali Khan recalled her childhood memories of her ancestral home, the Pataudi Palace, and said that the place still exuded an “old-world charm”. She also spoke about how visiting Pataudi made her feel closer to her father, the late cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.
Soha announced that her four-year-old daughter Inaaya Naumi Kemmu is trying organic farming in Pataudi and eating salads made from the vegetables she has grown.
Speaking to The Indian Express, Soha said that she enjoys the expanses and greenery of Pataudi. “I kind of feel closer to my father when I’m there. I go to his grave and spend time with him. It is his home. So there is this connection too. So many memories grow. I remember the time when there was no electricity and we were visiting as kids. We slept outside, under macchardani (mosquito net). Now we have AC, but back then there was no AC or cell phones. So it was a complete demolition, ”she said.
“We play cricket, we farm organically. Inaaya goes there too and plants something. Takes in potatoes, carrots and everything. We make a salad from cucumbers, carrots that she grew and harvested herself. There are peacocks and adopted dogs, sometimes snakes… so it’s like being in the middle of nature, ”she added.
