MAPUTO, December 8 (Xinhua). Mozambique’s southern province of Gaza has launched a campaign to distribute mosquito nets to 390,000 families in the province to prevent malaria, National Radio Mozambique reported on Tuesday.
The mosquito-borne infectious disease continues to pose a threat to the country’s public health and cooperation and participation from society is required to combat the disease, Gaza Strip provincial official Almeida Guilungue told the radio.
“The results of the campaign will only be achieved if civil society, public and private sectors work together to plan, implement, monitor and evaluate,” Guilungue was quoted as saying.
The 15-day campaign followed a spraying campaign for the 2020-2021 cycle from October before the rainy season began. End item
