A group of people all appear safe out of the water after getting into trouble on Mosquito Beach in Auckland’s South Head.
However, information about their conditions is yet to be disclosed. According to a police spokeswoman, there were apparently two rescue helicopters on site.
The police were alerted shortly before 2 p.m. “that a group of people in the water at Mosquito Beach had gotten into trouble”.
The police are not yet on the scene, but it is reported that the group is now all out of the water.
It is believed that they may have gotten into a crack.
A spokeswoman for St. John Ambulance confirmed that five people were in mild to moderate condition.
There’s more to come.
