Susquehanna Private Capital (SPC) announced an investment in Authority Franchise Systems (Mosquito Authority), a North Carolina-based franchisor dedicated to mosquito, pest and tick control in the US, Puerto Rico and Canada.

The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In addition to the Mosquito Authority brand, the company owns and operates Pest Authority, which includes commercial and residential services for ticks, bed bugs and termites. The company strives to provide exceptional and personalized pest control services through its affordable “No Commitments. No contracts ”method. Mosquito Authority was founded in 2002 by Joey Osborne and is led by CEO Chris Buitron. The company comprises over 150 growing franchises.

“We are excited to work with the Mosquito Authority team to build a multi-brand franchisor in the growing and recession-resistant pest control industry,” said Kyle Squillario, co-head at SPC. “We look forward to leveraging our resources and combining them with Chris’ industry knowledge and the extensive experience of his management team to grow the Mosquito Authority through partnering with fellow founders of outdoor home service brands.”

“The global pest control industry is an integral part of home maintenance and safety, which has come to the fore as people spend more time at home during the pandemic,” Osborne says.

Buitron adds, “With the support of SPC, we look forward to entering the next phase of business growth by expanding our pest control services and the reach of our customers.”

“We are proud to work with the Mosquito Authority team and look forward to building on the company’s reputation in the franchise space,” said John McGinley, vice president, SPC.
