MÉRIDA, YUCATAN (October 11, 2020) .- As part of the measures to control the mosquito that transmits diseases such as dengue, zika and chikungunya, the provincial government, in coordination with the Mérida City Council, will start work tomorrow on air and fumigation Country to the north of this city. Especially in the parts that were affected by the floods after Hurricane “Delta”.
The Yucatan Health Secretariat (SSY) reported that under the direction of Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal, the air cover will be carried out with the assistance of a helicopter and will cover the communities of Komchén, Noc Ac, Sierra Papacal, Cosgaya, Kikteil and Chablekal and X’cunyá.
In addition, the works will be carried out by land through spatial fogging carried out with 25 SSY vehicles and 6 additional units of the Mérida City Council.
Land activities take place in the Las Américas, Gran Santa Fe, and Ciudad Caucel sub-areas, as well as in the Caucel, Dzityá, Cheumán, Suytunchén, Dzidzilché, Santa Maria Yaxché, Tamanché, Dzibichaltún, Sac Nicté, Temozón Norte, Xcanatún sub-areas, Antonio Hool, and Tcanatún.
The SSY stated that the product used for air fumigation is the same as that used overland and in accordance with the official Mexican standard NOM-032-SSA2-2014 for epidemiological surveillance, promotion, prevention and control used by Vector and transmitted diseases is duly approved for this year by the two regulatory agencies, the National Center for Prevention Programs and Disease Control (Cenaprece) and the Federal Commission for Protection Against Health Risks (Cofepris).
