While we are most likely busy protecting our families, especially our children, from the Covid-19 pandemic, there is another seasonal threat to parents with newborns – dengue fever.
Dengue fever is one of the major insect-borne viral diseases in Malaysia and is considered a major public health problem as the disease can lead to death.
With this in mind, MamyPoko has developed the world’s first mosquito-repellent diaper to protect your baby from these annoying and potentially dangerous insects!
Dengue fever has always been a problem for parents, and the thought of our children contracting it is worse. The introduction of the MamyPoko Extra Dry Protect diaper is part of our initiative to help parents protect their children from the dengue virus.

The latest creation by MamyPoko, the Extra DryProtect diaper, uses lemongrass and its natural mozzi-repellent properties.
With the Japanese patented technology, lemongrass extracts are captured in microcapsules, which are then embedded in the surface of the diaper tapes.
To activate these microcapsules, mom or dad just needs to rub or scratch the diaper tape after placing the diaper on the baby. A pleasant lemongrass scent is released and helps repel mosquitoes from your baby for up to six hours.
The extract has been shown to be safe for babies. The diaper as a whole is also alcohol-free and DEET-free, with diaper straps that do not require skin contact. This ensures that the lemongrass microcapsules never touch your baby’s skin.
According to associate Prof. Dr. Gan Chin Seng, director of the pediatric intensive care unit at the University of Malaya Medical Center, speaking during the product launch, there were about 30,000 cases of pediatric dengue in Malaysia in 2019.
There were approximately 30,000 cases of pediatric dengue in the past year. In the absence of a cure or effective vaccine for dengue fever, we can do our best to protect our children and babies through preventive measures.

In addition to developing a product to protect babies from dengue fever, MamyPoko Malaysia went the extra mile in collaboration with AEON Retail.
You donate RM1.00 to the Malaysian AEON Foundation for every pack of MamyPoko Extra Dry Protect sold in an AEON store in October.
Your goal is to sell 10,000 packs for a total of 10,000 RM.
MamyPoko Extra Dry Protect is currently available in large retail stores and online in sizes from M to XL. Some outlets offer introductory promotions and sell a pack of diapers for only RM 39.99 each.
Additionally, MamyPoko recently launched a dengue awareness campaign asking parents to take one simple step at home to fight dengue and keep their children safe. Visit the website to register and participate.
